Giulia Busolin

Giulia Busolin is an enthusiastic young professional, passionate about communications and European affairs. Right after graduating with a MSc in Strategic Communication & Public Relations she moved to Brussels, specialising in advocacy and communications from the very heart of Europe. Within the Civil Society Outreach Unit of DG COMM of the European Parliament, she is committed to communicating Europe better together and connecting the institutions to its citizens through their network of civil society partners.
Workshop | Amplifying Ideas: Co-Creating the Future of Youth Centres

Silvestar Petrov is a holder of a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies and a Master's degree in the field of Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Croatia. He is a youth worker, trainer, and project manager. Currently, he is fostering dialogue among youth and decision-makers on the local, national, and European levels through structured dialogue projects. He has worked on developing the Local youth program of Gračac Municipality for 2019-22. He was a member of the working group for preparing the Croatian National Youth Programme for the period 2019-24 and is a local coordinator of European dialogue with youth. He is supporting the development of youth work in rural regions of Croatia. His primary interest is an interdisciplinary approach to non-formal education and the youth work field, moreover, as the development of creativity through visual art, theatre, and music.

Teun Otte
Chairperson at ASVA Student Union
Teun Otte is the chairperson of the ASVA Student Union, the largest student advocacy organization in Amsterdam. ASVA fights for affordable housing, accessible education, and provides free legal support to students. As rental prices soar and the housing shortage worsens, ASVA remains dedicated to addressing unresolved issues like (fire) safety, accessibility, and sustainability in student housing, pushing for impactful change.
Emiliano Rocchetti
Policy Officer at the International Union of Tenants (IUT), EU Liaison Office.
Emiliano Rocchetti recently graduated from the University of Bologna with a master’s degree in Diplomatic and International Studies. Last year, he completed a traineeship at the Regione Emilia-Romagna EU Delegation, where he focused on energy policy and regional development. For the past six months, Emiliano has been working at the International Union of Tenants, focusing on policies related to housing affordability and energy poverty. He actively participates in advocacy and representation activities to promote the interests of European tenants’ associations within the EU institutions.
Suzana Carp
European Climate Policy Specialist
Suzana studied in the United States for 7 years, before returning to Europe and graduating with distinctions from the University of Oxford’s Master of Science program. She subsequently went on to acquire a second Master's degree in EU Climate and energy policies from the College of Europe. Suzana Carp is a European expert in industrial strategy, decarbonization of heavy industry, energy, climate and nature protection. In her current role, Suzana actively contributes to the development of the Cleantech for Europe initiative, a coalition of venture capital investors that have over 500 companies in their portfolio with innovative solutions for reducing or completely avoiding greenhouse gas emissions. In the past, Suzana led the global think tank Sandbag (renamed Ember) in Brussels, and from this role she created and activated several European coalitions and campaigns for climate protection that resulted in legislative changes in this field in the European Union, including the creation of a European Climate Law. Other roles have focused on political strategy, innovation fund creation, and the role of the European Green Deal in European Union diplomacy.

Executive Secretary of Stand Up for Europe
Sebastian Berchesan is the Executive Secretary of Stand Up for Europe, a Brussels-based NGO aiming to bridge the gap between citizens and EU institutions. Previously, he was active in the youth sector in Romania on behalf of the Youth Council and he was a member of the Students' Council. Besides his current work in the field of youth engagement and participation, his area of expertise is International Relations and Eastern European Politics.
Vasiliki Mustakis
Participatory Democracy Manager at ECAS
Vasiliki Mustakis works as a Participatory Democracy Manager at ECAS, where she oversees the ECI Forum and supports the European Democracy Programme Director. Prior to this role, she interned with ECAS’s European Democracy team. Vasiliki's academic background includes a Master’s in European Politics and Policy from University College London, UK and a Bachelor’s in Government and Economics from Smith College, USA. Her research has focused on European civic identity, particularly the impact of the Euro on fostering a shared civic identity across Europe.
Tony Venables
Representative, ECIT Foundation on European Citizens' Rights, Involvement and Trust
Tony Venables founded ECIT Foundation in 2015. He has a long working experience in European issues, in particular in the areas of the EU’s relationship with NGOs, free movement of people, citizenship rights, and the protection of consumers in Europe. His work also relates to transparency, governance and institutional reform of the European Union. Previously as Director of ECAS, he worked extensively on the partnership principle in the EU Cohesion Policy.

Marco Tarquinio
Member of the European Parliament, Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats
Marco Tarquinio is an Italian journalist and Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He is best known for his long tenure as the editor-in-chief of Avvenire, a prominent Italian Catholic newspaper. Tarquinio is recognized for his work in promoting social justice, human rights, and dialogue across different communities. In his role as an MEP, he focuses on issues related to human rights and democratic values in Europe.
Prof. Luigi di Santo
Professor of Philosophy and Law
Luigi di Santo is a full professor of Philosophy of Law. He currently teaches Philosophy of Law, Theory of Interpretation and Legal Informatics, Theory and Practice of Social Rights, and Philosophy of Human Rights in the Department of Economics and Law at the University of Cassino and Lazio Meridionale. He is president of the degree course in Legal Services for the Public Administration and Third Sector. He is the scientific director of the Giorgio La Pira National School of Socio-Political Education and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Jacques Maritain Institute. He is editor-in-chief and scientific director of the journal Democrazia e diritti sociali. His latest volume is Per un'Ermeneutica dei diritti sociali. The Four Pillars. Family Work Participation, Health, Il Mulino, Bologna, 2020.
Prof. Katiuscia Carnà
Head of education, Director of national and international training courses on the topics of Active and Global Citizenship
Katiuscia Carnà holds a doctorate in Educational and Social Research from the University of Roma Tre, with a thesis on identity and religious education of new generations of Muslims in the city of Rome. She graduated and specialised in Languages and Easter Civilizations at La Sapienza University in Rome. She is the author and co-author of essays investigating the experiences of migrant women and new generations. For years, she has been involved in education and dialogue between different cultures and religions.
Domenico De Carlo
Youth Activist, Youth Forum of Potenza
Domenico de Carlo, 22, is a Law student at the University of Potenza in southern Italy. Alongside his studies, he is engaged in universal civil service, contributing to his community. He actively volunteers with the Youth Forum of Potenza, supporting various initiatives and events organized by the forum. Passionate about law and civic engagement, Domenico is dedicated to making a positive impact through both his academic and volunteer work.
Ludmila Malai
EU Project Manager at Intercultural Dialogue Platform
Ludmila Malai holds a Master's degree in Security Studies and Diplomacy and a specialised Master's degree in International Law. She has extensive experience in developing and coordinating EU-funded projects on topics such as CVE/PVE, racism, migration, gender equality, active citizenship, youth engagement and deliberative practices. She is the coordinator of the Citizen Z project.
